The Long Hiatus

Hello again!  Wow - it's been awhile!  You know how there are seasons in your life where you find yourself with so many "opportunities" for growth that you just can't keep up in all areas of your life that are important to you?  The length of that breathless sentence should tell you a bit about my reality these past few months.

God has provided me with a seemingly endless supply of such opportunities lately.  OK, if this blog wasn't so strongly set on the rich rewards of having a positive outlook on life I could regale you with my recent experiences of having the rug pulled out from under me...in many areas of life.  I'm sure the specifics of these times will be revealed over time in this blog, but I'm just coming back into a place of homeostasis and don't feel an immediate need to wallow.

My point in writing this particular post is to say to you my readers, and to myself "What a wild ride so far!!  But I'm still standing!!"  Thank you God for that.  And also, that I'm back.  I've missed blogging.

Here's an update in a nutshell:

Same God

Same house

Same spouse

Same kids

Same car

Same wonderful support system

Same ability to wake up in a cozy bed and make my own choices

Same drive for excellence in all I do

Same desire above all, to help people in need
Same UPS man
Same running shoes - either they are really sturdy...or....

Different career

Different job

Different computer (believe it or not that can be a stressor! :)

Different schedule

Different health reality
Different status of Grandparents 
Different income (vastly different)
Different perspective on what's important
Different lifetime goals
Different view of success

So over the coming months I'm sure all these points will be explained.  I leave you with this thought.  No matter what you go through, no matter how dire, dark, or damned your circumstances seem to you, God is with you.  He has a plan.  For you to prosper and not to fail.  For a hope.  For a future.  And here is the part that I LOVE.  When we seek him with all our hearts?  HE WILL BE FOUND BY US.  WOW.  Amazing.  He knew we'd have days like that.  Check out that verse in Jeremiah 29:11-13 and beyond.  Cling to it.  He made sure it was in the Bible.  Just for you and me.  We just need to believe.
